Collecting Seeds

A lot of plants will produce seeds that I collect for the following year.  Some of my favorite seeds are from both vegetables and flowers.  Some easy ones to collect are from the following plants:

cilantro – plant produces white flowers and then they turn into round seeds

lettuce – plant produces small flowers and then they turn into small seeds

pumpkins – after pumpkins mature, they are full of seeds that can be air dried

marigolds-after flowers dry, the flower heads can be collected and produce tons of seeds

cannas – flower pods can be collected and opened to produce pea-like black seeds
